
Three Gladiators Selected to 2005 ECHL All Star Game

The ECHL announced today that rookie forwards Brett Engelhard and Jeff Campbell as well as defenseman Jim Jackson were named to the American Conference squad for the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All Star Game in Reading, P.A. on January 26th at 7:05 p.m.
A rookie out of Michigan Tech, Engelhard was loaned to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League where he has appeared in 4 games since being called up on December 14th. Engelhard leads Gwinnett in goals scored with 14 and shares second in that category among ECHL rookies.
Jeff Campbell ranks 5th in ECHL rookie scoring with 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points in 29 games this season with Gwinnett. The Hensall, Ontario native appeared in 12 games last season with the Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League after completing his final collegiate season at Western Michigan University.
In his second season with the Gladiators, Jim Jackson leads all ECHL defenseman with 4 power play goals on the year. The Marquette, Michigan native was named the ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for February last year with a +15 rating while helping the Gladiators capture the 2004 ECHL Central Division Championship.
The Gladiators three selections to the All Star Game are the most of any team in the ECHL. Campbell, Engelhardt and Jackson join Gladiators Head Coach Jeff Pyle, who was selected yesterday as a coach, on the American Conference squad for the January 26th contest.
The Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators continue their second season on the road against the Augusta Lynx on Friday, January 7th at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties.
