Corey Neilson and Todd Ford Named All Stars

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to announce that defenseman Corey Neilson and goalie Todd Ford have been selected to play in the Coors Light ECHL All Star game to be played on Wednesday, January 26 at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania at 7:05 p.m. eastern time.

Neilson has been selected as a starter for the American Conference All-Stars for the second year in a row as he will be making his second appearance in an ECHL All-Star game. Neilson is currently tied for second on the Ice Pilots team in points with 21 and is fourth in the league among defenseman in scoring. Neilson is also fourth in the league among defenseman with 16 assists.

Neilson last season was named the ECHL Defenseman of the Year and made First Team All-ECHL. He was the top scorer on the Ice Pilot last year with 78 points (19g 59a) and lead all defenseman in the league in scoring. Neilson was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round and was the 53rd player taken overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He is 28 years old from Oromocto, New Brunswick.

Ford is in his first professional season and has a record of 8-2 with a 2.00 goals against average with a .939 save percentage. His 2.00 goals against average is currently the third best in the ECHL and his .939 save percentage is currently the fifth best in the league.

Ford is one of the assigned pro players on the Ice Pilots roster from the Toronto Maple Leafs as he was selected in the 3rd round and was the 74th player taken overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He is 20 years old and is from Calgary, Alberta.

Neilson and Ford will be joined by Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish on the American Conference team as Farrish was announced as one of the two coaches to coach the American Conference team on Tuesday.

The Ice Pilots will play home to Louisiana on Friday and Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Friday night fans will have the opportunity to win two tickets to the game vs. Louisiana on Saturday night sponsored by Black Tie Bridal.

Saturday night's home game is "Elvis Night." Fans are asked to dress like Elvis on Saturday night and a contest will take place during the intermission with prizes to be given away. It is also a Florida Lottery Second Chance Night. The first 100 fans who bring $5 worth of non winning Florida Lottery tickets to the Civic Center box office will receive a ticket to the game.
