Hutchins Selected To ECHL All-Star Game
January 5, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
BILOXI, Miss. â The ECHL announced today that Mississippi Sea Wolves left wing Jeff Hutchins has been selected to represent the team as a member of the American Conference at the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game to be held in Reading, Pennsylvania on January 26.
Hutchins, 26, is tied for fifth in the ECHL with 16 goals and tied for seventh in scoring with 31 points (16g-15a) in 30 games. The 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins has also a team-high plus/minus of +12 to go along with 108 penalty minutes. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Hutchins is in his third season of professional hockey and third year with Mississippi. In 2003-04, Hutchins received American Hockey League call ups from the Houston Aeros and Rochester Americans. Hutchins attended the 2004 AHL training camp of the Grand Rapids Griffins.
"It's definitely a big honor," said Hutchins. "I've never been to an All-Star Game. I want to thank (Mississippi) head coach Bob Woods and associate coach Steffon Walby for giving me the ice time and guidance. I also owe a lot of credit to my linemates Jay Legault and Travis Lisabeth."
"It's a well deserved honor for Jeff," said Mississippi general manager and coach Bob Woods. "He entered this season in great shape and has worked extremely hard by scoring, throwing around his weight and dropping the gloves. Hutchins will represent the Sea Wolves well."
Mississippi gets back into action at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday against the Texas Wildcatters at Ford Arena in Beaumont.
