
Wranglers best team in ECHL at 29-6-3

Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 3-0-0 record this past week with wins at home over San Diego, Fresno and Phoenix. Tuesday night, Las Vegas defeated San Diego 6-2. Friday, the Wranglers blitzed Fresno 7-2. Saturday night, Las Vegas shutout Phoenix 2-0 at the Orleans Arena.
This week the Wranglers will play two road games. Thursday night, Las Vegas will visit the Phoenix Roadrunners at 6:11 pm (PST). Friday night, the Wranglers will head to San Diego for a 7:35 pm face-off. Las Vegas will play a total of seven games on the road before returning home to play the Alaska Aces on Tuesday, February 7th.

The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the San Diego Gulls 6-2 on Tuesday night in front of 4,035 fans at the Orleans Arena. Forward Chris Stanley scored twice as Las Vegas moved to 15-1-2 at home. Winger Dan Tudin added a goal and an assist in the victory. Goaltender Marc Magliarditi made 20 saves for his 17th win of the season.

Fresno 2 at Las Vegas 7
The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Fresno Falcons 7-2 in front of 6,677 fans Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers forwards Matt Dzieduszycki and Chris Neiszner each scored twice as the Wranglers moved to 16-1-2 at home this season. Left wing Todd Alexander added a goal and an assist in the victory. Las Vegas goalie Mike McKenna made 22 saves, improving to 11-1-1 on the season. For the second time in two weeks the Wranglers set a new team record for the three fastest goals. Neiszner, Nick Anderson, and Marco Peluso each scored during a 1:15-span, breaking the old mark of 1:23 set in Utah on January 1st.
Sabourin Becomes First Wrangler in the NHL
Wednesday, former goalie Dany Sabourin became the team's first ever player to be promoted to the National Hockey League. The NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins recalled the former Wrangler from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. Sabourin started for Pittsburgh in Columbus on Wednesday night, stopping 10 of 14 shots in the team's 6-1 loss.

Las Vegas has the highest winning percentage in the ECHL at .803. Las Vegas leads the league in wins (29), points (61) and home victories (17). The team also has the fewest losses in regulation at home (1) and is tied for the fewest losses in the league (6). This is the latest in the season the team has had fewer than 10 losses. During the team's inaugural season in 2003-04, the Wranglers suffered their 10th loss on January 9th. Wranglers' goalie Marc Magliarditi leads the league with 18 wins and is tied for first with three shutouts. This season, the Wranglers have broken or tied 16 team records. Winger Dan Tudin is second in the ECHL with a +23 and is tied for the league lead with four shorthanded goals. Tudin's 144 shots on goal are fourth best in the ECHL. Las Vegas is outscoring opponents 82-44 at home. Las Vegas is 23-2-2 (.870 winning percentage) since November 19th. The Wranglers are outscoring opponents 47-32 in the second period and 52-29 in the third period this season. Center Chris Stanley leads the team with 18 goals, including seven on the power play. Stanley is the team's leader for career power-play goals with 18. Stanley has six goals in his last nine games played.

Phoenix Roadrunners - (10-23-3, 23 Points) - The Wranglers are 4-0-0 against the Roadrunners this season, outscoring Phoenix 13-4. Phoenix is 6-14-3 at home this season and 1-8-1 in their last 10 games played, including 0-2-1 in their last three games. Forward Dean Tilltgen leads the team in scoring with ten goals and 14 assists for 24 points in 36 games played.
San Diego Gulls - (17-14-4, 38 Points) - The Wranglers head to San Diego for the first time this season, after taking the first two meetings by a combined score of 13-4 at the Orleans Arena. Center Steve Hildenbrand leads the Gulls in scoring with 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 34 games played. Rookie All-Star Jesse Bennefield leads the team with 18 goals scored. San Diego is 10-5-3 at home this season and 6-4-0 in their last 10 games played.
