
'Rays Can't Get It Done In Bonus

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
South Carolina finished 0-0-2 on the week to keep their record even at 13-13-10 on the season. The Rays have possession of fifth place in the South Division of the ECHL one point if front of the Augusta Lynx and three points behind the Charlotte Checkers. The Rays will face both teams this week.
After an overtime and a shoot out loss this week, the Stingrays are now 0-10 in games that advance past regulation (0-4 OT; 0-6 SO)
South Carolina's has been consistently effective. The Rays have a power play which clicks at 20.8% and is ranked eighth in the ECHL.
The Rays are led in scoring by Brad Parsons, who has 32 points on eight goals and 24 assists. Davis Parley should return to action this week for the Stingrays, he has a record of 2-2-1 for the Stingrays with a 2.94 GAA. He is 2-0-1 in his last three times out with a 2.16 GAA.
Tuesday, January 10th
Stingrays 3 Vs Pensacola 4 OT
The Ice Pilots scored four unanswered goals against the Stingrays to win the game in OT. Adam Courchaine tipped the game winner pas Maxime Daigneault to help the Ice Pilots begin a four game winning streak.
Friday, January 13th
Stingrays 2 @ Augusta 3 SO
The Stingrays dropped their sixth straight shoot out as Matt Reid's shot stopped on the Lynx goal line in the fifth round of the shoot out. The Rays are 4-2-4 in their last ten games.
Abbott Headed To Third All Star Game
The ECHL announced on Thursday that the television broadcast crew for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light will be Darren Abbott of the South Carolina Stingrays, OLN analyst Neil Smith and Jack Michaels of the Alaska Aces.
Abbott will be the play-by-play announcer with Smith doing color commentary for the fifth consecutive year and Michaels doing interviews with players, coaches and representatives from the ECHL and the National Hockey League.
It is the third ECHL All-Star Game for Abbott, who worked on the audio broadcast in 2000 and on the television broadcast in 2003. He is in his seventh season as "Voice of the Stingrays" while also serving as the team's director of public relations. He was the ECHL Broadcaster of the Year in 2003 and was ECHL Public Relations Director of the Year in 2000 and 2001, the only two-time winner in league history. Abbott began his career in the ECHL as the Stingrays' public address announcer for home games and the color analyst for road games in 1996-97 and then spent two seasons as the play-by-play announcer and director of public relations and broadcasting for Roanoke before returning to South Carolina.
The Fresno Falcons are the host for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 24 and the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light on Jan. 25. Both events will be at Save Mart Center and begin at 7 p.m. PT. The television broadcast schedule will be released as soon as it is finalized.
