Three Chiefs Called Up

Johnstown, PA (January 16, 2006) - Three Johnstown Chiefs are getting a chance to play at the next level.

The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that Mike Egener, Gerard Dicaire and Adam Henrich have been recalled to Springfield of the AHL.

In 26 games for the Chiefs, Dicaire, 23, had four goals and ten assists. Dicaire previously played 10 games in Springfield this season. The 6'2, 210 pound defenseman from the Yukon Territory was originally a second round draft choice by the Buffalo Sabres in 2000, but re-entered the draft were he was selected in the fifth round by Tampa Bay.

Mike Egener, 21, has four points, including two goals, and 66 penalty minutes in 18 games. Egener, also a defenseman, played in Springfield last year, registering five points and 183 PIM's in 45 games. Egener was Tampa Bay's second round selection in 2003.

Adam Henrich, 21, was a staple on the Chiefs top line, with center Justin Kelly. Henrich, of Thornhill, Ontario, had 19 points in 28 games, including 9 goals. He was Tampa Bay's second round selection in 2002.

All three men were second round selection in the NHL draft, though Dicaire returned to the draft and was selected by Tampa Bay in round five of the 2002 draft.

The Johnstown Chiefs 2005-2006 Season presented by First National Bank resumes Wednesday, at home against Reading. The game will feature the Pittsburgh Pirates Caravan, which boasts Pirate stars Oliver Perez, Jose Castillo, Ryan Doumit and Paul Maholm. The Pirate Parrot will also be in attendance.
