Notes from the Nest
-The Condors roster looks very different than it did several days ago. On Thursday, the Condors acquired Chris Hodgson from the Phoenix Roadrunners in exchange for the rights to defenseman Anders Olsson.
-On Saturday, Sean Venedam (broken fingers) and Dave Bonk (ankle sprain) were placed on the 7- Day Injured Reserve and Dennis Shiryaev was moved to the 30-Day IR. Amidst the injured reserve movement, Bakersfield signed former captain Paul Rosebush to assist on the forward lines. The Condors also signed Bakersfield Ice Sports Center Hockey Manager Daniel Kim for the weekend's games. Kim has played in 23 games as a pro, including 16 with Long Beach in 2002-03 and 3 with the Condors last season.
-Earlier in the week, the Condors traded Justin Quenneville and goaltender Ryan Cyr to Phoenix for goaltender Mathieu Chouinard. Chouinard did not report to the team and was suspended indefinitely.
-Dennis Shiryaev underwent knee surgery on Friday to repair a torn meniscus. The veteran forward was moved from the 7-Day IR to the 30-Day IR.
-Defenseman Reagan Leslie's four-game assist streak ended on Sunday in the Condors' loss to Florida. The streak ties Scott Basiuk for the longest Condor assist streak of the season.
-Kevin St. Jacques has recorded an assist in his last five home games, the second longest active streak in the ECHL.
-Rosebush's goal on Sunday was the 129th of his professional career in his all-time franchise record 411th career appearance with the Condors. Rosebush now trails Paul Willett (130) by one goal for third all-time in goals scored with Bakersfield. Rosebush also extended his all-time franchise penalty minute record to 898 with 14 PIMs this weekend.
