DULUTH, GA - For the second night in a row the Gwinnett Gladiators (20-21-7) had no answer for the Toledo Walleye (21-20-3), falling 5-2 Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Dustin Cameron opened up the scoring 5:04 into the first period with his first goal for Gwinnett after being added to the roster from the Elmira Jackals last week. Michael Forney and Brennan Turner added assists.

With only 1:03 left in the period Toledo drew even with a shorthanded goal from Mike Hedden after Glads goalie Billy Sauer misplayed the puck, giving it away to Hedden who promptly deposited it in the back of the net on a wraparound. The score remained 1-1 at the end of twenty minutes.

Toledo added three goals in the second period. The first tally came just 36 seconds in from Jason Lepine, giving the Walleye the 2-1 lead.

Hedden increased the Walleye lead to two with a goal at the 14:03 mark. This marked his second goal of the night after picking up two goals in last night's game against the Glads.

Just 2:06 later Willie Coetzee added the third goal of the period making it 4-1.

Sauer had 23 saves before he was relieved by Chris Carrozzi after the fourth goal. At the end of two the score remained 4-1 and the Walleye had outshot the Gladiators 29-9.

At the 7:20 mark in the third period Pat Galivan decreased the deficit by one for Gwinnett with Forney earning his second assist after Galivan redirected a shot from the point. Galivan now has six goals in his last eight games.

With 16 seconds left in the period Zach Torquato added a final shorthanded empty net goal to give the Walleye the 5-2 win.

Gwinnett is back in action in South Carolina on Friday, February 11th at 7:05 p.m
