Ben Gordon Loaned by Reading to Rochester

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has loaned forward Ben Gordon to the Rochester Americans of the AHL. In other transactions announced today, (i) the Royals loaned forward Casey Haines to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL; and (ii) forward Richard Greenop was assigned by the Marlies to the Royals.

For Gordon, a third year pro from International Falls, Minnesota, this marks his second call-up to Rochester. In his first stint with the Americans, Gordon picked up a pair of assists in three games. Gordon leads the Royals with forty-six points (20g-26a) in forty-two games. This is the first opportunity for Haines, a first year pro from Indiana, Pennsylvania, to play in the AHL. He has twenty-three points (12g-11a)-which includes six goals in his last eight games-and eighteen penalty minutes in thirty-eight games for the Royals. This is Greenop's second stint with Reading. In seventeen games with the Royals, he has three points (1g-2a) and twenty-four penalty minutes. He registered three assists and twenty-eight penalty minutes in eleven games with the Marlies.

The Royals take on the Trenton Devils tonight (Saturday, February 5, 2011 @ 7:00 pm) at Sun National Bank Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.
