Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (23-20-1-1, 48pts) snapped a tie score with four unanswered goals to cruise to a 5-1 victory over the Ontario Reign (14-27-2-2, 32pts) in front of 7,823 fans at Rabobank Arena on Friday Night.

F Bobby Robins scored the first goal of the game three times during January, and picked up right where he left off when he struck for the Condors in the first. He tapped home a pass from F Andrew Ianiero at 9:43 to put Bakersfield up 1-0. The Reign were able to knot up the scoring with 2:28 left in the first as F Kyle Kraemer collected his own rebound and slipped a shot past G Josh Tordjman. The period ended in a 1-1 tie, with Robins also dropping the mitts against Reign LW James McEwan.

D Erik Burgdoerfer regained the lead for Bakersfield when he snapped a shot over G Beau Erickson's glove to make it 2-1. It was the only goal of the period, but the Condors seized momentum in the frame, outshooting Ontario 16-7.

The home team blew it open in the third, scoring three times to pull away. C Joel Broda rifled home his fourth of the year at 5:21, RW Stephane Goulet blasted home a slapper for his team-leading 16th at 12:12 and LW Jean-Marc Beaudoin rapped in his own rebound for a shorthanded tally at 17:22 to make it 5-1. Meanwhile Tordjman did the rest, finishing the night with 23 saves for the win between the pipes.
