
Wranglers Complete Comeback

Las Vegas, Nev.- The Las Vegas Wranglers (24-14-3) defeated the Elmira Jackals (20-19-5) 5-4 in front of 5,077 at the Orleans Arena. Wrangler Greg Collins capped off a three-goal third period with the winning goal at the 18:35 mark. Ryan Huddy added a goal and an assist in the win. Eric Regan also had a goal and an assist for the Jackals. Wrangler goaltender Joe Fallon improves to 17-8-1 on the season making 14 saves on 18 shots. Garrett Zemlak takes the loss and falls to 5-8-3 stopping 18 of 23 shots.
Las Vegas got on the board first with a redirected goal from Blake Gallagher at 2:39 of the first period. Colin Long and Sean McMonagle earned assists on the rookie's 10th goal of the year. Elmira responded by scoring three goals on their next four shots. First, RJ Anderson netted his 5th goal of the season. Andrew Sweetland and Mike Hoffman notched the assists at 7:27. Eric Regan got on the board next at 11:39 of the frame. Brock McBride got the lone assist on Regan's 9th of the season. Ryan Hillier kept the scoring coming with his 3rd goal of the campaign at 16:34. Jason Bailey and Eric Lampe got the assists and the Jackals were up 3-1 at the end of the first period.
The Wranglers responded in the 2nd period with a power play goal at the 8:05 mark from rookie Matt Price. Jerry Pollastrone and Dan Bertam assisted on Price's 4th goal of the year. The Jackals weren't done as Justin Donati netted his 14th goal of the season at 19:52 of the 2nd period. Drew Paris and Eric Regan got the assists and Elmira went into the locker room with a 4-2 lead.
In the third period, the Wranglers would not be denied. It took only 42 seconds for the Wranglers to make it a 4-3 game. Ryan Huddy scored his team leading 24th goal of the year. Barry Goers and Blair Riley earned assists on the goal. Las Vegas tied it up at the 4:00 mark of the third with a power play goal from Chris Higgins. Tyler Mosienko and Ryan Huddy got the assists on Higgins' 5th goal of the season. The Wranglers finally retook the lead for good at 18:35 of the period when Greg Collins jammed a puck home for his 13th goal of the year. Geoff Paukovich earned the only assist on the game winning goal. The Wranglers held on for the 5-4 win.
These same two teams will battle again at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday evening at 7:05.
