
Everblades Sign Winger McDonald

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that forward Ian McDonald has signed with the team.
McDonald joins the Everblades after beginning the season overseas in England with the Nottingham Panthers were he posted 29 points (12g, 17a) in 34 games. The 25-year-old is coming off a four-year collegiate career at the University of Alberta where he played from 2006-10. During his four-year stint with the Golden Bears McDonald tallied 120 points (47g, 73 a) in 120 games.
Before skating at the collegiate level the Edmonton, Alberta native spent six seasons at the major junior level with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League. McDonald recorded 217 career points (72g, 145a) in 329 games with Tri-City and had a break-out season in his final year with the Americans, leading the team with 92 points (37g, 55a) in 71 games in 2005-06.
While playing with Nottingham earlier this season the 6-foot-3, 200 pound winger was teammates with former Everblades Craig Kowalski and Corey Neilson.
