
Vladimir Nikiforov Named ECHL All-Star

West Valley City, Utah - The ECHL announced today that Utah forward Vladimir Nikiforov has been selected to the National Conference All-Star team.
The Reading Royals, the City of Reading and the Sovereign Center will host the 17th Annual ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 21, 2009 and the 12th Annual All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 20, 2009.
The Grizzlies are proud to be the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and their AHL affiliate in Bridgeport.
Nikiforov, a 21-year-old rookie, started the year by playing four games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers before being assigned to Utah where he has tallied six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 27 games.
The Grizzlies return to action Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas. Face-off at the Orleans Arena is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. both nights.
Utah returns home to open a four-game in five-night home stand Tuesday, January 6 when they will host the Reading Royals at the E-Center at 7:05 p.m.
