
May and Taylor Named National Conference All Stars

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today that defenseman Jeff May and center Jeff Taylor were selected to the National Conference All Star Team. The Wranglers will host Utah on Friday, January 2nd at 7:30 PM at the Orleans Arena.
The Reading Royals, the City of Reading and the Sovereign Center will host the 17th Annual ECHL All-Star Game on January 21st and the 12th Annual All-Star Skills Competition on January 20th.
May earns his first All-Star selection in his first season of play. The 22-year old defenseman was just recalled to the AHL by the Providence Bruins. The rookie defenseman played in 23 games for Las Vegas with four goals and six assists. May placed second among all defensemen on the team with ten points. He was drafted in the fifth round (#151 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings.
May joined Las Vegas after opening the season in the American Hockey League with the Norfolk Admirals. The defenseman was held scoreless without a penalty in three AHL games. The rookie defender posted 40 assists and 44 points in 54 Western Hockey League games last season, splitting time between Prince Albert and Lethbridge. In 2007-08, May's 44 points finished 12th in overall scoring among defensemen in the WHL. The 21-year old blueliner led Prince Albert in 2006-07 with 34 assists and finished fourth overall in team scoring with44 points. The Richmond, BC native led all Prince Albert defensemen with ten goals and 44 points. May also placed third on the team with 96 penalty minutes in 2006-07.
Justin Taylor earns his first All-Star selection. Taylor has eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in 16 games played. Taylor is in his fifth season of professional hockey. His four previous seasons were all played at the AHL level with Omaha, Lowell and Norfolk. In an injury shortened season in 2007-08, Taylor scored three goals and totaled five points in seven games with the Norfolk Admirals. Taylor played in Omaha from 2005 to 2007, totaling 24 goals and 31 assists for 55 points in 124 games played. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound center spent his rookie season with the Lowell Lock Monsters in 2004-05.
