South Carolina's Dubuc Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - South Carolina rookie Michael Dubuc is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 22-28.

The 20 year old had eight points (6g-2a) to help the Stingrays go 3-0-0 and improve to 18-7-3, moving to within one point of South Division leader Florida.

After scoring two points (1g-1a) in a 4-3 win at Gwinnett on Friday, Dubuc scored the game-winning goal and had an assist in a 3-2 win against Mississippi on Saturday and scored a career best four goals, including the game winner, and four points in a 6-3 win on Sunday.

Dubuc is tied for second among ECHL rookies with 17 goals, seven power-play goals and three game-winning goals and he is tied for fifth with 29 points in 21 games. He is under contract to Hershey of the American Hockey League and has played three games for the Bears.

He has played the last four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he had 206 points (112g-94a) and 193 penalty minutes in 231 regular season games and 42 points (28g-14a) and 42 penalty minutes in 38 playoff games for Prince Edward Island and Rouyn-Noranda.

On behalf of Michael Dubuc, a case of pucks will be donated to a North Charleston youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 20,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
