RoadRunners Cool Condors in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Bakersfield Condors fell to the Phoenix RoadRunners , 5-0, before 3,337 fans at U.S. Airways Center Tuesday night. Phoenix G Craig Kowalski made 27 saves for his first shutout of the season.

nieThe RoadRunners (13-13-3, 29pts) came out firing in the first period, sending 23 shots on net in the frame. G Ryan Nie made 21 saves, but Phoenix lit the lamp twice to take a 2-0 lead through the first 20 minutes.

The Condors (11-15-4, 26pts) out-shot Phoenix, 9-6, in the second period, but the RoadRunners added to their lead with a pair of goals in the stanza. Both tallies came off the stick of LW John McNabb, completing the hat trick after he potted one in the first period as well.

The RoadRunners attack continued in the third period, as C Kimbi Daniels found the back of the net for Phoenix to account for the 5-0 final score. Nie stopped 15 shots in the final frame alone and finished with 40 saves on 45 shots in the game.
