Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

LAS VEGAS -- Pinch hitter Reese Havens drew a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning to give the Las Vegas 51s a walk-off walk victory, 4-3, over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Saturday night at Cashman Field.

The Isotopes tied the game in the ninth inning. Rusty Ryal doubled, went to third on a bunt single by Matt Angle, and scored on a Brian Barden sacrifice fly. Angle stole second base later in the inning, but the Topes couldn't push across the go-ahead run.

Peter Moylan (2-1) pitched a scoreless eighth, then allowed a leadoff single to Zach Lutz in the ninth. Lutz' drive went about two-thirds of the way up the 20-foot wall in left field and was nearly a walk off homer. Eric Campbell bunted two pitches foul, then watched four pitches outside the strike zone for a walk.

Juan Centero sacrificed the runners to second and third. Moylan fell behind Omar Quintanilla 2-0, then he was intentionally walked. On a 3-2 pitch, Moylan walked Havens to end the game.

The Topes scored first on a Ryal RBI single in the first inning. Wilmer Flores' two-run single gave the 51s a 2-1 lead in the fourth. Angle's solo homer tied the game in the top of the seventh. Eric Campbell's home run gave Las Vegas the lead right back, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh.

Game two of the four-game series is Sunday afternoon. Anthony Ortega will start for the Topes in place of Sean White, who was placed on the disabled list Saturday afternoon. Collin McHugh will start for the 51s. First pitch is 1:05 pm MDT.
