LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Round Rock Express (20-15) salvaged a series split with the Las Vegas 51's (16-17) with a 12-6 victory Friday night in the series finale at Cashman Field.

The Express collected a season-high 20 hits behind at least one hit from each starter with eight multi-hit efforts.

First baseman Chris McGuiness continued on his tear in the first inning, smacking a double to plate center fielder Engel Beltre who singled to begin the frame. McGuiness entered the game 7-for-15 (.467) with three extra-base hits over a four-game hitting streak.

The one-run lead held until the bottom of the third when Express starter Brad Mills ran into trouble with the 51's offense. After allowing two singles to begin the frame, Mills loaded the bases with one out after a walk. A sacrifice fly tied the game at one, but the 51's rallied with two outs, adding three more runs after a double and single before the inning came to a close.

A two-run blast by left fielder Aaron Cunningham in the top of the fourth cut the Las Vegas lead to one at 4-3. The 51's countered with a run in the bottom half of the inning when Mills balked with a runner on third.

The E-Train added three more runs in the top of the sixth to take its first lead of the night. Third baseman Yangervis Solarte singled in a run and second baseman Greg Miclat knocked in two more with the bases loaded on a RBI single for the one-run advantage.

Round Rock tacked on another run in the seventh on a fielder's choice ground-out by designated hitter Alex Buchholz that allowed right fielder Jim Adduci to score from third.

Leading 8-6 entering the ninth, the E-Train put the game out of reach with four more runs in the top of the last frame. The big blow of the inning coming off the bat of Cunningham, a two-out, two-run double to break the game open. The left fielder finished the game 4-for-6 with four RBI.

One night after allowing the game-winning run in the eighth inning, the Express bullpen shut down the Las Vegas lineup for 4.0 innings, allowing just three hits while racking up four strikeouts. Mills earned the win, improving to 5-0 while Johan Yan picked up his second save after 2.0 scoreless innings of relief.

The Express continues its road trip when it travels to Tucson to face the Padres Triple-A affiliate for four games (May 11-14) before returning home to start an eight-game homestand which includes the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (May 16-19) and Reno Aces (May 20-23). Game one of the four-game set is scheduled for 9:05 p.m. tomorrow night when Ross Wolf (0-1, 1.77 ERA) takes the hill for the Express. The Tucson Padres will counter with right-hander Tim Stauffer (2-2, 3.53 ERA) on the mound. For more information on the Express, visit www.RoundRockExpress.com or call (512) 255-2255.
