Tucson Padres News Release
Jaff Decker went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in a 6-2 win for the Tucson Padres over the Albuquerque Isotopes Friday at Kino Stadium. The Padres won the series over Albuquerque three games to one and are now one game out of first place in the Southern Division.
Albuquerque scored first on a two-out RBI double in the second inning by Jesus Flores. The Isotopes scored first in all four games of the series. Tucson responded in the bottom of the second with Decker's first RBI of the game on a single to right. The score remained tied 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth when Gregorio Petit lined a two-run double to center to give the Padres the lead. Rene Rivera brought home Petit on an RBI single one batter later. Rivera finished the series against Albuquerque 10-for-16.
After the Isotopes scored one run in the top of the seventh, Decker led off the bottom of the inning with a home run into the left field bullpen. Decker's final RBI of the game came in the eighth on a double to left-center.
Reliever Nick Vincent won his first game for Tucson, while Miles Mikolas picked up his fifth save, putting him in a tie for seventh in the PCL in saves. Isotopes starter Blake Johnson was charged with the loss after tossing 5.2 innings and allowing four runs, but only one was earned. Robbie Erlin started the game for the Padres and allowed one run in 5.2 innings of work.
