Trio of pitchers leave while trio touch down in Lansing

LANSING - The Toronto Blue Jays have announced today a cornucopia of moves to the Lansing Lugnuts roster, effective for today's games against the Fort Wayne Wizards at Oldsmobile Park.

Leaving the active roster are pitchers Chi-Hung Cheng, Po-Hsuan Keng and A.J. Wideman. All three have left the team to participate in the 2005 World Cup Tournament that begins Friday in the Netherlands. Cheng and Keng will play for Chinese Taipei while Wideman will suit up for Team Canada,

Taking the place of the three pitchers are a trio of hurlers that have been promoted from the Pulaski Blue Jays of the Appalachian League. Righthanders Connor Falkenbach and Hector Delgadillo and left hander Ben Harrison will join the club today.

Falkenbach, 23, was a 43rd round draft pick out of the University of Florida and was 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA with a pair of saves in 10 games with Pulaski.

Delgadillo, 22, posted a 5-3 mark with a 3.55 ERA in 18 games with Pulaski and is a native of San Antonio, Texas. The right hander attended the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

Harrison, 21, was 3-1 with a 3.82 ERA in 2005 with Pulaski in 2005 before the promotion, also earning a pair of saves. The arrival of Quintana places the Lugnuts' active roster at 25 players, the league allowed limit.
