
Chiefs to Help Hurricane Relief Fund

PEORIA, IL- The Peoria Chiefs, have announced they will join other teams nationally in an effort to raise money at remaining home games to benefit the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund and the Red Cross.
First of all, the Chiefs will auction off the use of the Grace Suite for Sunday's 2:00 PM game. The use of the suite is compliments of the Chiefs, NEXTEL and AAA Radio and will come with 20 tickets, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. The winner will also receive 20 Peoria Chiefs/NEXTEL prize packs. The auction is now live on the Chiefs website at www.peoriachiefs.com and will end Friday September 3rd at 9:00 PM. The auction begins at $200 with $10 bid increments. All the money from this auction will go the Red Cross efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
All fans who donate $10 or more at any remaining Chiefs game will receive a voucher good for one free ticket to an April or May Chiefs game next season. The Chiefs will set up various donation buckets around the stadium starting Friday when the team takes on South Bend at 7:00 PM. The Chiefs game Saturday begins at 6:30 PM while both Sunday and Monday's games are scheduled for 2:00 PM.
In addition, the Chiefs will have items available in silent auction format at all four games. The Chiefs will auction items signed by current and former Chiefs and include baseballs, photos, bats and hopefully jerseys. The team will also have signed baseballs from Nomar Garciaparra and Kerry Wood available for auction. All of the money from the auctions will go to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.
