
'Tips Select 10 Players at WHL Bantam Draft

The Everett Silvertips built for the future Thursday by welcoming 10 new players into the organization through the annual WHL Bantam Draft, held in the Palomino Room at the BMO Centre in Calgary, AB. The 10 players include six forwards, three defensemen and a goaltender. Four players hail from British Columbia, three from Alberta, two from Saskatchewan and one from Manitoba.
1st round, 7th overall
F Ty Mappin 1/25/96, Red Deer, AB 5'11 / 168
- "A highly dynamic forward who should be one of the more skilled guys to come though our system in quite a while. He's naturally skilled, and we hope he'll provide an offensive jolt to the group he's going to play with. The puck always seems to find him."

The WHL Bantam Draft is the WHL's talent identification process and serves as the first opportunity for WHL teams to add players to their respective 50 player lists. Eligible players for the Bantam Draft will be 1995-born players who reside in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
