Vancouver Giants Select Thomas Foster in 1st Round of WHL Bantam Draft

With their first selection in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, the Vancouver Giants picked centre Thomas Foster from Slave Lake, Alberta 20th overall. The 5'10, 150 lb centreman played this season for the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Bantam Hockey League. In 33 regular season games this year Foster had 32 goals, 21 assists, 53 points, and 4 penalty minutes.

"He is a two way player with good skill," said Vancouver Giants Director of Player Personnel Jason Ripplinger. "He is competive, hard to play against, and exactly what we were looking for."

The Calgary Hitmen selected Abbotsford, BC forward Jake Virtanen 1st overall.
