Raiders Select Reid Gardiner 8th Overall

Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders have drafted Humboldt Bronco's centre Reid Gardiner with their 1st round, 8th overall pick in the 2011 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft in Calgary Alberta this morning.

Gardiner, who was born in Prince Albert, notched 50 goals and 31 assists to go along with 20 penalty minutes in 24 games with the Broncos in the Centre Four Bantam League this season.

"We are very happy to have a local boy from Humboldt who was actually born in Prince Albert" said Raiders Head Scout and Director of Player Personnel Dale Derkatch. "He is a natural goal scorer and has a small town Saskatchewan type work ethic. We are excited to have him on board."
