Saskatoon Blades News Release

The Blades have selected defenceman Ross Hnidy 115th overall in the sixth round, a pick that was acquired from Lethbridge (Seattle) in the trade for Tyler Kizuik.

"Ross is a big physical defenceman who has a real edge to his game. He is a player that we have watched a lot this winter,' commented Blades' Assistant General Manager Jarrod Brodsky. "Hnidy is the type of defenceman that we like."

The 6'0, 197 lbs d-man from Saskatoon, SK has played in 39 games this season with the Saskatoon Frostbite, in which he has collected 11 goals and 14 assists for a total of 25 points.

The Saskatoon Blades are proud to welcome Ross and his family to the organization.
