Broncos Acquire Martin and Gonek in First Round

Swift Current, SK - The Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club have acquired Brycen Martin (2nd overall) and Zach Gonek (13th overall) in the first round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

Martin was selected second overall by the Broncos. The 6'1", 160 pound defenceman played 31 games with the Calgary Bisons of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) this season where he recorded 42 points through six goals and 36 assists. He also recorded 60 PIM this season.

Gonek was selected 13th overall by the Broncos. The 6'1", 185 pound defenceman played 28 games with the St. Albert Gregg Distributors Sabres of the AMBHL where he notched 9 goals and 13 assists for 22 points with 28 PIM this season. Both Martin and Gonek were listed as the AMBHL's top defenceman for the 2010-11 season.
