WEDNESDAY: Offense reigned for the TinCaps during the rain in a 10-4 victory over the Cougars. Fort Wayne trailed 4-1 halfway through and then erupted for a 9-run, 8-hit, 13-batter bottom of the 5th - the team's biggest offensive frame since July 25 last year @ Dayton when they scored 9 runs on 9 hits. Xavier Edwards led the way with a 5-for-5 game that included a double and an RBI.
WHAT'S ON THE LINE: The TinCaps have a chance to win a series for the first time since sweeping the Dayton Dragons in a 4-game set here April 8-11. That was also the last time the 'Caps won consecutive games.

LITTLE DROUGHT: Outfielder Grant Little was batting .344 with a .412 OBP in 16 games through April 23, but has only 1 hit and 2 walks over his last 6 games. He's 0-for-his-last 17 with 3 strikeouts.
RUIZ RIPPING IT: Outfielder Agustin Ruiz has the 5th best Batting Average in the MWL at .354. Ruiz's .423 OBP ranks 9th. His 19 RBIs are tied for 4th. WALK & RUN: Outfielder Jawuan Harris has walked in 19% of his plate appearances this season - the 6th highest BB% in the MWL. Last year as a rookie in the Arizona League he walked at a 14% clip... Harris is tied for 6th in the MWL in Runs (6).
HUNTING HITS: Catcher Blake Hunt has the lowest Batting Average on Balls in Play (BABIP) among qualifying TinCaps. While an "average" BABIP is .300, Hunt's BABIP is .241.
ON THIS DAY: In 1939, Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig's streak of 2,130 consecutive games played came to an end... Fort Wayne's franchise record for games in a season is 136 games - shared by Nate Freiman, a first baseman in 2010 and Josh Loggins, an outfielder in 1999. (Freiman reached the big leagues with the A's in 2013 and '14. His playing career ended in 2017. This year he joined the Indians as a Baseball Operations Assistant.)
200: Anthony Contreras, who's in his 4th season as the team's skipper, won his 200th game as TinCaps manager on April 11. His win total now stands at 206. The franchise leader in that category is Doug Dascenzo (227, 2007-09). Randy Ready (2004-06) ranks 2nd with 209 victories.
