Thunder Shut Down by Drabek, Fisher Cats

Trenton, NJ - A clash of playoff bound teams and two top pitching prospects landed in favor of New Hampshire on Monday in a 6-0 win over the Thunder at Waterfront Park. Kyle Drabek cruised for New Hampshire in earning his league-leading 14th win of the year. Trenton (76-52) falls to 2 1/5 games ahead in first place over New Hampshire in the Eastern Division.

In his Double-A debut for Trenton, LHP Manny Banuelos tossed 4 2/3 innings and struck out six in the loss. Banuelos (0-1) allowed six runs on seven hits, including home runs to Eric Thames and Adam Loewen. Thames hit his 25th home run of the season, a two-run shot over the right field wall in the third.

For the fourth time this season, Trenton struggled against the Fisher Cats ace Kyle Drabek. Drabek (14-9) cruised through seven innings and allowed no runs on two hits with nine strikeouts in the win. It was the fourth win for Drabek over the Thunder this season.

RHP Josh Schmidt relieved Banuelos in the sixth and recorded seven outs, all by strikeout, including a string of six consecutive.
