The Harrisburg Senators fell 10-5 to the Portland Sea Dogs on Monday night at Metro Bank Park, dropping game one of a three-game weekday series.  The Senators (67-60) lost by five runs despite being outhit by just one, 14-13.  With the loss, the Sens were tied at press time with the Bowie Baysox for the second and final playoff spot in the Eastern League's Western Division.

Nate Spears hit two home runs, and drove in six, in the win for Portland, which improved to 61-66 with the win.  The Sea Dogs held leads of 5-0, 9-1, and 10-4 in the game.  The Sens scored their five runs in the second, fiffth, seventh, and ninth, getting two in the fifth on an RBI single and a bases-loaded walk.  Three Senators--Stephen Lombardozzi, Chris Marrero, and Edgardo Baez--finished with three hits, and Marrero drove in two runs.  He also hit the only home run for the Senators, a solo shot in the second which was his sixteenth of the year.  Aaron Thompson (4-13) took the loss, while Blake Maxwell (5-0) got the win for the Sea Dogs.

Game two of the series is Tuesday night at 7 PM, with LHP Tom Milone (10-5, 2.87) set to start for the Senators.  He opposes RHP Kyle Weiland (5-7, 4.61) of the Sea Dogs.  Fans can hear all the action by tuning in to 1460 AM The Ticket, or logging on to www.senatorsbaseball.com, starting at 6:45.
