(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that LHP Manuel Banuelos and RHP Dellin Betances have been transferred to the Trenton roster from High-A Tampa. Both pitchers are ranked as Top 30 Prospects by Baseball America and Banuelos will make his Double-A debut Monday night. RHP D.J. Mitchell was promoted to Triple-A after 23 outings with Trenton.

Banuelos, 19, is a combined 0-3 with a 2.19 ERA in 12 starts between the Gulf Coast Yankees and the High-A Tampa Yankees. In 44.1 innings pitched with Tampa, Banuelos allowed 16 runs on 38 hits and struck out 62 batters while issuing 14 walks.

The Monterrey, Mexico native entered the season ranked as the Yankees' sixth best prospect according to Baseball America. In 2009 with Low-A Charleston and Tampa, Banuelos went 9-5 with a 2.64 ERA in 26 games, including 19 starts. The performance earned him a spot in the MLB Futures Game in St. Louis.

Betances went 8-1 with a 1.77 ERA in 14 starts for Tampa this season. An 8th round pick by New York in 2006, he had season-ending Tommy John surgery in August of 2009 and has recovered with 88 strikeouts in 71 innings pitched.

He entered the season ranked as the Yankees' 28th best prospect according to Baseball America.

The Thunder return to Waterfront Park to open up a three game series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Monday night at 7:05 PM. Banuelos will start for Trenton while the Fisher Cats will start RHP Kyle Drabek. All the action can be heard live on 107.7 FM or online at www.trentonthunder.com.
