
Thunder Add Conway; LaFountain To Staten Island

Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Class AA Affiliate of the N.Y. Yankees, announced today that C Dan Conway has been signed by the New York Yankees and assigned to Trenton. C J.T. LaFountain was transferred to the roster of the Staten Island Yankees (New York-Penn) to make room for Conway.
Conway played this season in the Cincinnati Reds Organization for both Chattanooga (Double-A) in the Southern League and Louisville in the International League. In 24 games for Louisville, he hit .158 with one home run and five RBI in 24 games. He also appeared in five games for Chattanooga and was 3-for-13. Conway spent his prior seven professional seasons in the Colorado Rockies Organization. Last season, he had a .219 BA in 48 games, including two home runs and 10 RBI, for Colorado Springs (Triple-A) in the Pacific Coast League. Conway was originally an eighth round selection by the Rockies in 2000 draft.
LaFountain, a University of Louisville product, has appeared in seven games over five different stints on the Trenton roster this season. He has a .200 BA (4 x 20), including two hits and two RBI against Reading on June 8th. In 2006, LaFountain batted .255 with 1 HR and 10 RBI for Charleston (A) of the South Atlantic League.
Trenton plays game three of a four-game series tonight against the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
