
Third Win in a Row for the Bulls

(Durham, NC) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (52-45) are now two games behind the Durham Bulls (54-43) in the International League East standings as they lost 5-1 on Friday evening. Mickey Moniak provided the only run of the game for Lehigh Valley - a home run in the top of the third inning against Easton McGee (5-5).
The IronPigs managed to record just four hits in the game. Outside of Moniak's home run in the third inning, all the other hits were singles recorded by Jean Segura, Nick Maton, and Jorge Bonifacio.
Durham took a 1-0 lead against Cristopher Sanchez (2-1) in the bottom of the second inning as Ryan Boldt hit an RBI single that scored Xavier Edwards. Boldt struck again in the bottom of the fourth inning when he hit a two-run home run against Sanchez to extend the Bulls' lead to 3-1. Jonathan Aranda added the fourth run of the game for Durham as he hit an RBI single to score Vidal Brujan.
Jim Haley put Durham ahead 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning when he hit a solo home run against Ryan Sherriff. The home run for Haley was his 14th of the season.
Michael Kelly, Jonathan Hennigan, and Bubby Rossman each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. JoJo Romero only needed to record one out in relief of Sanchez.
The IronPigs and Bulls will play again on Saturday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
