Scranton-W/B RailRiders (47-48) vs. Rochester Red Wings (47-48)

Friday - 5:05 p.m. ET - Frontier Field - Rochester, NY

Radio: Fox Sports 1280/iHeartRadio | TV: MiLB.tv

Game 1: RHP Braden Bristo (2-2, 4.82) vs. RHP Reed Garrett (ML-Rehab)

Game 2: RHP Matt Krook (5-7, 4.23) vs. LHP Josh Rogers (0-2, 9.35)

SOME ONE HIT RESUME: Rochester's Thursday afternoon game against Scranton was suspended in the middle of the third inning due to inclement weather...the Wings held a 2-1 lead when the game was called...RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon started on the mound, giving up three hits and an earned run through three innings, punching six tickets...a homer from 3B Jake Alu and a sac-fly from C Chris Herrmann accounted for Rochester's two runs...the game will resume tonight at 5:05 p.m. as RHP Reed Garrett will take the mound when play resumes, making a rehab appearance for Rochester...LHP Josh Rogers will start the second game of tonight's doubleheader.

CAN'T TOUCH CADE: On Wednesday, RHP Cade Cavalli went five scoreless innings while recording both his 250th career strikeout and 100th in a Wings' uniform...the Nationals' top prospect has not given up an earned run in the month of July, going 15.2 scoreless innings over three starts...Cavalli has a chance to be the first Wing to win International League Pitcher of the Month since LHP Francisco Liriano in 2008 (LHP Ben Braymer won Triple-A East pitcher of the month last season during the one-year hiatus of the IL)...the righty has now started 16 games this season with a 1.90 ERA (42.2 IP/9 ER) in his last eight starts, along with 3.53 K/BB (46 K/13 BB).

Cavalli would be just the second right-handed Wings pitcher to win the International League Pitcher of the Month honors since the award started being handed out (2003)...Cavalli would join Mike Smith (July, 2006) as the other righty to earn the honors.

All three IL Pitcher of the Month awards earned by Wings pitchers have come in the month of July, and should Cavalli earn the honors, the righty would fall in line, earning the award for his July performance.

HE'S GONE STREAKING: OF Josh Palacios' single in the sixth inning on Wednesday tied Nolan Gorman's (MEM) 16-game hitting streak (04/08 - 04/30), the longest in the IL this season...the former Auburn Tiger also moved his on-base streak to 29 games...both are currently the longest active streaks in the International League...Palacios' streak is the longest by a Wing since Nick Gordon had a 16-game hit streak in 2019.

LUCKY SEVEN: 1B Joey Meneses extended his hitting streak to seven games in Wednesday's contest, giving Rochester a 1-0 lead with an RBI triple in the sixth...the triple was Meneses' first of the year with his last coming on August 14, 2021 (w/ WOR)...in his last seven games, the righty is 11-for-32 (.344) with three homers and nine RBI...the 30-year-old has multiple hits in each of the first two games this series.

Should the righty homer in tonight's contest, he will be the quickest to 21 homers since Chris Colabello in 2013.

BABY DAHL: OF David Dahl hit a two-run shot in the sixth inning of Wednesday night's contest...the homer was his first in a Wings uniform (four total games)...prior to the game, the former Rockies first-round pick had just one hit in 12 at-bats since joining the team...Dahl's 10 homers this year are his most in a Triple-A season.

I MISS THE OLD YOU: With the loss on Wednesday, Rochester falls to below .500 for the first time since opening day's loss to Toledo...the Wings are now on their second-longest losing streak of the year at seven games (long: eight games, 6/7 - 6/15)...the club is 12-29 over their last 41 contests after starting the season 35-19...since starting the year 5-1 against Scranton, Rochester is 2-6 against the RailRiders (7-7 this season).

PRESS PLAY: RHP Reed Garrett will be on the bump today when play resumes against Scranton...the righty has a 4.00 ERA (27 IP/12 ER) in 22 relief appearances with Rochester this season...this will be Garrett's first time pitching for the club since being called up to the Majors on June 14.

JUST JOSHIN': LHP Josh Rogers will get the start in the second game today against Scranton...the lefty will look to build on his last outing where he gave up just two earned runs in five innings of work with Rochester...this will be Rogers' third start since rejoining Rochester on June 30 (one on ML-Rehab)...last season the Albany-native posted a 7-3 record with the Wings and a 3.70 ERA (73 IP/30 ER), the best among Wings starters.
