BUFFALO, NY - Led by a four-hit, multi-homer night by second baseman Otto López, the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Worcester Red Sox 7-5 on Friday night from Sahlen Field.

The Bisons scored in five of the first six innings, starting with López in the first who doubled and came around to score on Nathan Lukes' RBI single, before the Blue Jays No. 5 prospect hit a two-run, inside-the-park home run in the following inning.

The next time López came to the plate in the fourth, he hit an outside-the-park homer for his third extra base hit in as many at-bats. He would also get hit by a pitch and steal a base in the sixth, before coming around to score his fourth run of the ballgame off a two-run single by Spencer Horwitz.

López singled in the eighth and stole another base for good measure, ultimately ending the night 4-4 with two homers, a double, four runs scored, three RBIs, and two stolen bases.

Thomas Hatch made the start for the Herd and after giving up a solo homer to Triston Casas in the first, settled down nicely en route to seven strong innings. Hatch gave up just the one run off five hits and one walk while punching out four for his sixth quality start of the year.

Kyle Johnston came on in the eighth with a six-run lead, but after loading the bases with two away, gave up a grand slam to Abraham Almonte to make it a 7-5 game before being replaced by Graham Spraker.

Spraker gave up an RBI double to Cam Cannon as the WooSox cut the lead to one (the run was charged to Johnston), but struck out the ninth batter of the inning to escape with a one-run lead still intact.

Vinny Nittoli entered in the ninth and recorded his first save as a Bison while facing the top of the Worcester order to secure the win and even the series at two games apiece.

The Bisons and WooSox will play the penultimate game of this six-game series tomorrow evening, with first pitch set for 6:05 p.m. EST.
