Syracuse Offensive Batters Bisons, 7-1

September 1, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release

Matt Skole homered twice to lead a 15-hit Syracuse attack that buried the Bisons, 7-1, on Tuesday night. Kevin Keyes also homered on the eve of the final game to be played at Coca-Cola Field in 2015.

The Bisons have just one more home game in 2015, Wednesday's Fan Appreciation Night game against Syracuse at 6:05 p.m. (Gates 4:30 p.m.).

The Chiefs outhit the Bisons 15-4 and had the loudest hits of the game. Skole hit a two-run home run in the second inning to open the game's scoring. He then combined with Keyes in the seventh inning for back-to-back solo shots that came on consecutive pitches from Bisons starter, Todd Redmond.

The second of Skole's two home runs on the night hit the roof of the Bully Hill's Party Deck, nearly leaving the ballpark. Keyes followed with a blast to left-center that would've also left the yard under Coca-Cola Field's old dimensions.

A Caleb Ramsey triple and a Steve Lerud double followed the seventh inning home runs to knock Redmond from the game. Syracuse tacked on two more in the eighth inning to build a 7-0 cushion.

Buffalo scored their only run in the ninth inning when George Kottaras walked and traveled around the bases on a wild pitch, an error and a groundout.

Redmond allowed five runs in 6.1 innings to suffer his seventh defeat of the season. Just up from Double-A New Hampshire, southpaw Chad Girodo pitched a scoreless ninth inning in his Triple-A debut.
