September 1, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open a brief two-game set with the Pawtucket Red Sox on Tuesday night. First pitch from McCoy Stadium is set for 7:05 p.m.
RHP Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez will be making his first start of the season for the Pigs. After missing most of the season with right shoulder inflammation, the right-hander did not allow a run in 11.0 IP over four rehab starts with the GCL Phillies (Rk.). In 2014 with the IronPigs, Gonzalez was 0-0 with a 1.62 ERA and 2 saves in 12 appearances.
LHP Rich Hill (4-3, 1.98) gets the ball for Pawtucket in the series opener on Tuesday. The southpaw's last start came on Thursday at Buffalo when he got the win after allowing four hits to go along with three walks and eight strikeouts in six shutout innings. Hill's last start against Lehigh Valley came on August 22 at McCoy Stadium when he surrendered two runs on five hits in 7.0 IP and was dealt the loss against the Pigs.
Pigs OF Jordan Danks became the second IronPig to hit a grand slam this season when he did so in a pinch-hitting role on Monday night. In 19 games since being optioned by the Phillies on August 7, Danks is hitting .313-3-12 with six doubles and nine runs scored.
