The Bulls play the finale of a two-game series against the Gwinnett Braves in the second series of a six-game homestand. Durham is 10-2 over its last 12 games, but is still just 22-25 since the All-Star break. The Bulls have dropped 41 of their previous 71 contests to go from a 2.0-game lead in the IL South to a 6.5-game deficit. Gwinnett - the Atlanta Braves' top affiliate - is 2-6 over its last eight contests, but still finished the month of August 17-13. The G-Braves are 3.0 games back of first-place Norfolk, and 5.5 games back of Columbus in the Wild Card race. Gwinnett is trying to reach the postseason for the first time since 2009 when it won the Wild Card.
