STORM NOTES
- Knight Strikes Again! Tyler Knight continued his strong presence in the goal-scoring department with two more this week. Tyler is the team leader in goals with 11. Knight has six goals in the month of December. Sam Paolini has the team lead in points (8-16-24). Nick Parillo is tied with Paolini for the teams lead in assists with 16.
- Shoot the Puck! Toledo continues to be one of the top teams in the ECHL in shots for. The Storm is averaging 33.08 shots per game, which ranks 7th in the ECHL.
- Toledo is 7-6-0 at home and 6-3-3 on the road this year.
- Toledo's power play unit ranks 6TH in the ECHL, after a 4 of 7 week, with 20 power play goals in 111 chances (18.1%).
- The penalty kill unit of Toledo went 9 for 10 over the week and has allowed just 16 goals in 115 chances against this season (86.8%). That is 10th in the ECHL.
STORM WATCH
- On Tuesday night, it is another edition of the Toledo Storm Coach's Show. Maris Ziedins will join Head Coach Nick Vitucci this week and the voice of the Storm Matt Melzak live at the Bronze Boar from 6-7pm. The Boar is located at 20 South Huron Street. The Coach's Show can be heard live this week on Fox Sports Radio 1230!
- Toledo returns to action Thursday night in Trenton. The Storm has lost the first 2 to the Titans this season (3-4,2-5). This will be the first meeting in Trenton. The group of Rick Kowalsky (11-7), Brent Robinson (7-11), and BJ Abel (3-15) lead the Titans.
- Friday night, it's off to Johnstown for a game against the Chiefs. Toledo lost the first meeting in Johnstown (2-3), but have a 1-1-0 record against the Chiefs. The Chiefs are led offensively by: Brett Kelly (9-16) and Jean Desroachers (8-13).
- Sunday afternoon, the Storm will be in Atlantic City for the first time this season. These two teams have played just once this year with Toledo winning 3-1 on December 3rd. The Boardwalk Bullies are led by: Derek Edwardson (13-17), and Luke Curtin (8-22).
STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Shawn Collymore (2 goal â 0 assist = 2 points)
Shawn Collymore netted the last two goals of the game on Sunday. He is the first Storm player this season to score 2 power play goals in one game. It was Shawn's first game-winning goal of the year.
STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Scott Fankhouser (2-0-0, 4GA & 74SV)
Scott was terrific over the two games against Wheeling. His 40 save performance Sunday were the second most made a Storm goaltender this season (Fankhouser 43 November 5th in Las Vegas).
