THE WEEK AHEAD

Friday, December 31st Inferno vs. Greenville Grrrowl 2pm Carolina Coliseum

Columbia is 2-0-0 this season and 18-6-1 all-time against the Grrrowl...This is the third out of ten meetings between the Inferno and Grrrowl this season. Greenville is in fourth place in the East Division with 29 points (13-11-3).

Saturday, January 1st Inferno @ Pee Dee Pride 7:30pm Florence Civic Cnt.

Pee Dee is currently in second place with 32 points (15-9-2) in the East Division. This is the fifth meeting between the Inferno and Pride this season. The Inferno is 3-1-0 against the Pride this year and 19-7-3 all-time.

Tuesday, December 21st INFERNO 3 Pee Dee 2

Kyle Bruce scored the game-winning goal at 9:32 of the third period as the Inferno beat the Pee Dee Pride for the second consecutive game. Pee Dee took a two goal commanding lead in the first period but that did not stop the Inferno. D'Arcy McConvey scored his seventh goal of the season at 13:05 on the power play as he shot from behind the net with passes from Derek Eastman and Trevor Demmans. Bryson Busniuk also scored his seventh goal of the season two minutes later at 15:08 to tie the game for Columbia with a slap shot from the point. Steve Slaton and John Longo assisted on the goal. After a scoreless second period, Bruce scored his fifth goal of the season in the third period to lift the Inferno past the first place Pride. Goaltender Mike Minard remains unbeaten as he improves his record to 10-0-2.

Sunday, December 26th INFERNO 3 Gwinnett 2

The Columbia Inferno win their third game in a row as they defeat the Gwinnett Gladiators 3-2. Columbia's Matt Ulwelling scored his first of two goal of the game at 5:59 of the first period with help from Greg Amadio and Steve Burgess to put the Inferno on the board first. Gwinnett scored at 3:08 of the second period with a power play goal by Jim Jackson. Bryson Busniuk gave Columbia the 2-1 lead as he netted his eighth goal of the season at 8:20 with an assist from Chanse Fitzpatrick. The Gladiators scored their final goal on the power play at 6:06 of the third period by Mike Vigilante. Ulwelling scored his second goal of the night, a game-winning shorthanded goal, at 10:18 as Walker McDonald set him up. Inferno goaltender Mike Minard still remains unbeaten as he improves to 11-0-2.
