Bakersfield, Calif. - Dan Tessier's shorthanded goal early in the third period proved to be the game winner as the Fresno Falcons shut down the Bakersfield Condors 3-1 in front of 4,547 fans at Centennial Garden on Sunday night.

Fresno controlled the play early, leading in shots 8-1 at one point, but Randy Petruk held the ship together and allowed Bakersfield to get the first tally of the game. Likit Andersson fired a wrist shot through traffic and in for his second goal of the season and the Condors led 1-0 after 20 minutes.

The Falcons tied the game late in the second stanza as Derek Krestanovich's backhander from behind the goal line deflected off a Condor skate and in. The goal came with less than two minutes remaining in the period. From that point on, Bakersfield registered just two shots on goal and couldn't regain the momentum. The Falcons got two more tallies in the final period to seize the victory.

Dan Tessier's shorthanded goal just four minutes into the third broke the tie, and Simon Mangos added a little insurance as Fresno took the 3-1 victory.

The Condors remain at home for three more this week, starting on Tuesday, December 28th at 7:00 p.m. against Las Vegas for Harry Potter Night. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a Harry Potter school folder, courtesy of KLLY 95.3. In addition, anyone dressing up as Harry Potter can get 2-for-1 admission.
