
Las Vegas Heads to Bakersfield for New Year\'s Showdown

Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted an 0-1-1 record for the week with both defeats coming at home. Las Vegas fell 5-4 in a shootout to the Fresno Falcons in Monday night's Midnight Game. Sunday evening, the San Diego Gulls edged the Wranglers 1-0 at the Orleans Arena.
This week, Las Vegas will play three straight games in Bakersfield starting on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. The Wranglers will play at Centennial Garden on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm.

Fresno 5 at Las Vegas 4 SO
The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Fresno Falcons 5-4 in a shootout. The second annual midnight holiday roundup drew 4,006 fans to the Orleans Arena. The Wranglers were paced by Dan Tudin who scored twice. Fresno's Jason Weaver netted the game-winning goal in the shootout for the Falcons.
Las Vegas winger Dan Tudin scored first for the Wranglers on the power play 5:36 into the contest to give the Wranglers the early 1-0 lead. Fresno's Derek Krestanovich tied the game for the Falcons less than three minutes later. Tudin netted his second goal of the first period with 2:10 left, giving the Wranglers the 2-1 lead. With 37 seconds remaining in the first period, Fresno winger Shaun Sutter tied the game at two.
Wranglers' forward Patrik Nilson gave the Wranglers a 3-2 lead with his third goal of the season in the second period.
Fresno's Dan Tessier got the scoring started in the third tying the game at three. Falcon's winger Sam Ftorek beat Wranglers' goalie Sebastien Centomo with a slap-shot 14:39 into the third, giving the Falcons a 4-3 lead. Wranglers' winger Dustin Johner tied the game at four with just over a minute remaining in regulation.
After a scoreless overtime, the Wranglers were beaten in a shootout 2-1 giving the Falcons the one-goal win.

The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the San Diego Gulls 1-0 Sunday evening at the Orleans Arena in front of 4,961 fans. San Diego's Brian Gornick scored the only goal of the game 3:53 into the second period. Sebastien Centomo made 24 saves in the losing effort. San Diego goaltender Mathieu Chouinard made 30 saves to get the win.

Bakersfield leads the Season Series 2-1-0
The Condors and Wranglers will meet three times this week and three mores times during the remainder of the season. Last time these two teams met, Las Vegas fell 2-1 at the Orleans Arena on Friday, December 17th. The Condors have a four-point lead over the second place San Diego Gulls for first place in the National Conference's West Division. Bakersfield is 10-3-2 at home this year, while Las Vegas is 6-4-3 on the road this year. Condors' left wing Kevin St. Jacques leads the team in scoring with 25 points in 26 games played. Defenseman Guy Dupuis is among the league leaders for defensemen in scoring with 21 points in 26 games. Goalie Yutaka Fukifuji is 9-4-2 on the year with a 2.77 goals against average. Las Vegas has outscored Bakersfield 11-7 in the season series.
