Toledo Walleye News Release

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have acquired defenseman Doug Andress from South Carolina of the ECHL in exchange for defenseman Craig Olynick. In a separate move, defenseman P.J. Martin has been recalled to Milwaukee of the AHL.

Head Coach and Director of Player Personal Nick Vitucci talked about the move, "This is a move to make us better. Doug brings some offensive flare to the defense position, and he comes from a terrific college hockey program."

Doug Andress has spent the last four years with The Ohio State University, where he appeared in 161 games. For his career at OSU, Doug tallied 18 goals and added 71 assists. This season, Andress's rookie campaign, he has 5 assists in 23 games. Olynick has played in 12 games this season with Toledo. Craig has collected no points and 59 penalty minutes in those contests. The former draft choice of the Los Angeles Kings came to Toledo late last season and played in 9 games for the Storm. Craig had 2 goals and 1 assist during that stint with Toledo.

Martin had 3 goals and 7 assists in 24 games with the Storm this season. P.J. spent 8 games in the American Hockey League last season with 3 different teams (Manchester, Springfield, and Binghamtom). Martin was a part of Milwaukee's training camp this year. The Admirals are home tonight against San Antonio before traveling to Houston Wednesday night.

The Toledo Storm is on the road until the Start of 2005. The next home game is January 5th against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Toledo Hockey...A History of Champions!
