GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers have announced plans for pre-game recognitions of three individuals on Tuesday evening, prior to the home game against the Augusta Lynx at the BI-LO Center (7:05pm). The game will be the first of three home games this week, including Thursday (12/30) against Gwinnett, and Saturday (1/1/05) against the South Carolina Stingrays. With Sunday's 2-1 win in Pee Dee, Greenville is riding a three-game win streak, and have improved the overall record to 13-11-3.
Prior to the game on Tuesday, COACH JOHN MARKS, MIKE MORRISON AND CARL MALLETTE will be recognized for recent efforts and awards. COACH JOHN MARKS coached his 1,400th professional game on Sunday, adding to his total which is tops among active professional hockey coaches at any level. Now, in his 18th season as a head coach, Marks' overall record is currently 698-578-124, placing him 7th on the All-Time list.
MIKE MORRISON (G) will be recognized as the "REEBOK Hockey Saver of the Week" for the week of December 13-19. Morrison was 2-0 for the week, including a shutout in Las Vegas against the Wranglers, and recorded 92 saves on 94 shots for the week.
CARL MALLETTE (F) will receive notice from the Greenville Grrrowl Booster Club as its player of the month for November, the same month that he received the "CCM Tacks ECHL Player of the Month" after totaling 16 points in 12 games.
