
Mississippi's Road Success Keeps Team Above .500

BILOXI, Miss. â The Mississippi Sea Wolves dropped a home game last week and bounced back with a road victory to extend their road unbeaten streak to six games during regulation, with a 5-0-1 record over that stretch.
On Wednesday, the Charlotte Checkers edged Mississippi 3-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The Sea Wolves got back into the win column by topping the Texas Wildcatters 4-1 on Sunday at Ford Arena in Beaumont.
After 26 of 72 regular season ECHL games, the Sea Wolves have posted a 12-11-3 record for a total of 27 points. Mississippi is 6-6-1 at home, 6-5-2 on the road, 1-2 in overtime games and 2-1 in shootouts.
Mississippi occupies fifth place in the South Division and sits in ninth place in the 12-team American Conference.

A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Dumont scored a power-play goal and shorthand tally including the game-winner in the Sea Wolves victory at Texas on Sunday. The power-play tally also gave Dumont sole possession of sixth place on the ECHL goal scoring list passing Darryl Noren. The 31-year-old Dumont has 297 league goals over his 11-year ECHL career.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK â In his only appearance of the week, Matt Underhill turned away 38-of-39 shots on Sunday in Mississippi's 4-1 victory at Texas. The 25-year-old Underhill has played in 12 games this season with Mississippi, compiling a 5-4-3 record. A native of Campbell River, British Columbia, Underhill has a 2.72 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.
