LAST WEEK: Pee Dee suffered its first winless week of the season, going 0-2-0, and extending its season-long losing streak to three games. Entering the final week of 2004, the Pride are 15-9-2 for 32 points and in second place of the East Division, two points behind Charlotte. The Pride have two games in hand on the Checkers.

Tuesday, December 21 @ Columbia Inferno 3 PRIDE 2

Pee Dee got off to a quick start, as goals by Jeff Szwez and Darryl Green in the first 11:32 of the game gave the Pride a 2-0 lead. But, Columbia scored two goals just 2:03 apart before the period ended to tie the game at 2. It stayed that way until 9:37 into the final period when the Inferno's Kyle Bruce beat Nick Boucher on a quick shot from the right-wing circle to give Columbia its second win over the Pride in four days.

Sunday, December 26 v. Greenville Grrrowl 2 PRIDE 1

After a scoreless first period, the Pride struck first on Adam Elzinga's second goal of the season 7:23 into the second period. Greenville tied it at 16:45 on former Pride defenseman Vladimir Gusev's second of the year. The Grrrowl scored the game-winner just 2:59 into the final period when Colin Pepperall beat Nick Boucher on a goal-mouth scramble.

The Pride and Gladiators meet for the first of four times this season. Last season, Pee Dee was 2-3-1 against Gwinnett, with all but one game in the series decided by one goal. The Gladiators are 15-7-4 for 34 points and are in second place in the South Division, one point behind first-place Pensacola.

Friday, December 31 v. Augusta 6:00 p.m. at the Lion's Den

Pee Dee and Augusta meet for the fourth of seven times this season. The Pride are 3-0-0 overall against the Lynx, and 1-0-0 at home. Pee Dee is 33-10-5 all-time against Augusta. The Lynx enter the week with an 8-15-2 record for 18 points, and are in sixth place in the East Division.

PROMOTIONS: It's the first Season-Ticket Holder Redemption Night of the season. Pride season-ticket holders can redeem unused tickets for free 200 or 400 level tickets. Tickets can only be redeemed through the Pride office, and must be done so by 5:00 on Thursday. Following the game, join the Pride players and staff for a New Year's Eve Party at RedBone Alley featuring live music from Everette, champagne toast at midnight, and a special on crab-stuffed filet mignon. Kids 12 and under who show their ticket stub from the game at RedBone on New Year's Eve will receive a free kids' meal.

Saturday, January 1 v. Columbia 7:30 p.m. at the Lion's Den

The Pride and Inferno meet for the fifth of 10 times this season. Pee Dee is 1-3-0 against Columbia this season, with the home team winning each of the first three meetings. Columbia has won three straight games entering this week, and stands in third place in the East Division with a record of 14-7-3 for 31 points.

PRIDE NOTES

- The Pride have lost the last two games in which they scored the first goal. Prior to Tuesday's loss at Columbia, Pee Dee had been 11-0-1 when scoring the first goal of a game.

- Nick Boucher has started 14 straight games in goal for the Pride, posting an 8-5-1 record over that span. Boucher ranks third in the ECHL in minutes played (1187), fourth in saves (536) and ninth in goals-against average (2.12).

- Over their last seven games, the Pride are 2-for-34 (5.8%) on the power play. For the season, Pee Dee ranks 26th out of 28 teams on the man advantage, converting at 11.9%.

HOCKEY TONIGHT SIGNS

The Pride's "Hockey Tonight" yard signs are back! If you need a new yard sign, you can pick one up at the Pride office between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at the Customer Service Tables during home games. Remember to place your yard signs on game days. The Pride have two home games this week: Friday, December 31 against the Augusta Lynx and Saturday, January 1 against the Columbia Inferno.
