Toledo Walleye News Release
- Alexandre Jacques did it again to Dayton scoring 2 goals on Saturday night. Jacques has netted 8 goals and added 5 assists in 8 games against the Bombers.
- Peter Flache collected his first 2-goal game with the Storm Friday night against Johnstown. Peter has 3 goals since arriving in Toledo from Greenville on January 3rd. Ironically, all 3 of Flache's goals are against the Chiefs.
- Landon Bathe picked up 3 points (1goal, 2 assists) over the 2 games this weekend. Landon had appeared in 36 games prior and had collected 4 points (1-3).
- Alexandre Jacques has 23 goals and 21 assists on the season. His 44 points and 23 goals are tops for Toledo in both categories. Alex currently has 15 multi-point games this season. Morten Ask has 22 assists, which is the most for Toledo this season.
- Defenseman Tom Nemeth sat in the penalty box for the first time this season Saturday night when he picked up a roughing call at 18:36 of the second period. Nemeth had played 13 games with Toledo without a penalty called against him. Currently, Tom has 7 assists and has played at a team leading +10 since joining the Storm.
- Toledo has 30 or more shots over the last 13 contests.
- The Storm has a record of 17-5-2 when scoring 3 or more goals in a game this season.
- Toledo has 28 power play goals in 225 attempts (12.4%). Toledo is ranked 28th in the ECHL on the power play.
- Toledo's penalty kill unit is ranked 10th in the ECHL, killing off 198 of 233 chances against (85.0%).
- Toledo is 10-11-3 at home this season and 10-12-3 on the road.
Storm Watch
- Toledo will host the Idaho Steelheads this Friday and Saturday night. This is the first ever meeting between the two franchises. Friday night is "Mardi Gras Night" with the first 2,000 fans in the door receiving Mardi Gras beads. The special sweaters worn that night will be auctioned off following the game against the Steelheads.
- On Sunday, the Cincinnati Cyclones will invade the Sports Arena. Toledo is 3-3-1 against the Cyclones this season, and 0-3-0 in the Sports Arena.
- The Toledo Storm coaches show will be back in action this Tuesday night at 8pm in the Downtown Frickers.
STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Jim Abbott (0 goals - 3 assists = 3 points +1)
Jim returned to the Toledo Storm after a brief stint on IR and set up 3 goals this weekend. Saturday night Abbott played alongside Alexandre Jacques and Morten Ask, assisting on both of Jacques goals.
STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Doug Teskey (1-0-1, 1.44 gaa, 0.956 save%)
Doug started both contests for the Storm this weekend. Teskey was at his best Saturday night in the first period when he stopped 18 of 19 Dayton shots.
