Red-hot Royals perfect this week

The Reading Royals recorded a perfect four win week to move into fourth place in the Northern Division, just three points out of third. The Royals opened the week on Wednesday, February 11 against the Trenton Titans. Reading knocked off Trenton for the fifth time in six tries, 4-2, in the Sovereign Center. The Royals took to the road for the final meeting of the season with the Dayton Bombers. The Royals pumped the Bombers 6-1 behind four power play goals, including a four-goal third period. Saturday, Reading played host to state rival Johnstown. The Royals knocked off the Chiefs 6-1 powered by a four goal second period. Kent Davyduke registered his first hat trick of the season in the victory. The Royals and Cincinnati Cyclones skated on Sunday afternoon to cap off the Royals week. The Reading 4-1 victory was their ninth straight win in the Sovereign Center and 18th victory in 21 tries this season.

The Reading Royals will play three games in three nights this weekend. Reading and Atlantic City begin the first of five straight battles in the Sovereign Center on Friday at 7:05 p.m. The Royals play their final non-divisional game on Saturday against the Western Conference's Bakersfield Condors. Reading finishes off the weekend on Sunday, February 22 at 5:05 p.m. with a pivotal divisional battle with the Trenton Titans.

Wednesday, February 11 vs. Trenton Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: On the strength of scoring the game's first three tallies, Reading defeated Trenton, 4-2. The Royals received multiple point efforts from forwards Scooter Smith and Dave Stewart, helping Reading win its seventh straight home contest. Peter Hamerlik notched his 4th win of the season, turning aside 32 shots for the victory.

Friday, February 13 @ Dayton Nutter Center 7:00PM

GAME NOTES: The Royals continued their dominance over Dayton, dismantling the Bombers, 6-1. In three contests this season, Reading has not lost to Dayton, out-scoring them 22-6. Five Royals' skaters recorded multiple points; led by forward Lars Pettersen's one goal, three assist evening.

Saturday, January 14 vs. Johnstown Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: Highlighted by a four-goal second period, including a hat trick by forward Kent Davyduke, the Royals routed the Johnstown Chiefs, 6-1. Peter Hamerlik was sensational in goal for Reading making 40 saves for his sixth win of the year. The victory matched the Royals' season high for consecutive home wins (8), while vaulting them past Johnstown in the Northern Division standings.

Sunday, February 15 vs. Cincinnati Sovereign Center 5:05PM

GAME NOTES: Forward Peter Hay buried two first period goals powering Reading past Cincinnati, 4-1. Goaltender Peter Hamerlik won his fourth straight start for the Royals stopping 25 shots. Lars Pettersen also added a goal and an assist for the victorious Royals. The win was the team's ninth consecutive at home, setting a new season-high.

Friday, February 20 vs. Atlantic City Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: Reading and Atlantic City meet for the first of five straight meetings in the Sovereign Center. The Royals have posted a 1-3-1 mark against the Boardwalk Bullies this season. Reading and Atlantic City split back-to-back meetings in Atlantic City on February 6 & 7.

Saturday, January 21 vs. Bakersfield Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: This is the first and only meeting between the Royals and Condors. For the Royals, this is the 16th and final meeting outside if the Northern Division. Reading is 11-4-0 against non-division foes this season.

Sunday, February 22 vs. Trenton Sovereign Center 5:05PM

GAME NOTES: This is the fourth and final meeting between the Royals and Titans in the Sovereign Center. Reading beat Trenton for the fifth time this season 11 days prior in the Sovereign Center, 4-2. The Royals and Titans finish off their nine game season set with back-to-back battles March 19 & 20 in Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.

Kent Davyduke paced the Royals with a hat trick in Saturday's game against the Johnstown Chiefs in a pivotal game in the Northern Divsion. Davyduke recorded his first hat trick of the season and third of the season for the team. His tallies came even strength, shorthanded and on the power play. Davyduke leads the club with a +18 plus/minus rating.

Hamerlik continued the stellar Royals goaltending this season. The Slovakian native registered four straight wins allowing just over a goal a game in the process. His .963 save percentage paced the Royals to a perfect 4-0-0 week. Hamerlik dropped his goals against to under 3 and boosted his save percentage this season to over .910.
