Stingrays Rebound On Florida 3-2

North Charleston, SC Ryan Finnerty scored a pair of goals and Jeff Legue had the game winner as the South Carolina Stingrays won their third game in four tries with a 3-2 victory over the Florida Everblades in front of 3,313 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

The Stingrays jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on two goals by Ryan Finnerty. Finnerty tipped a Deryk Engelland shot past Phil Osaer at 8:54 and then scored on a wrist shot on a one on one at 12:33.

The Stingrays added to their lead in the second when Jeff Legue scored his team leading ninth game of the season on the power play when John Hecimovic found him in front of Osaer on a two on one at 15:59.

The Everblades made it interesting in the third period with goals from Nick Vukovic and Paul Cabana, but the Rays held on behind 28 saves from Maxime Daigneault.

The Stingrays will travel to Greenville on Friday and then return to take on the Grrrowl on Saturday night at 7:05. Saturday night is Teddy Bear Toss night for Debbie's Kids and the Salvation Army.
