Lavallee traded to Charlotte

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman Kevin Lavallee has been traded to the Charlotte Checkers. The trade completes the November 7 trade between the clubs that brought forward Phil Aucoin to Florida.

Lavallee, who was acquired by the Everblades in a trade with the Long Beach Ice Dogs on October 17, played in 12 games with Florida this season, picking up eight points and was a plus-4 rating. Last season, the 23-year-old split time between a pair of German leagues. Lavallee began the 2004-05 season skating in 38 games with the Straubing Tigers of the German Bundesliga scoring 14 points (5g, 9a) and finished the year by playing in nine games (0g, 1a) with Kassel of the German Elite League.

Overall in his four seasons in Germany, the native of Montreal, Quebec scored 82 points (30g, 51a) in 186 games with Augsburg, Amberg, Straubing and Kassel. Prior to heading overseas, Lavallee split one season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Acadie-Bathurst and Montreal, picking up a combined nine points in 58 games.

The Everblades return to action on Friday, December 2 when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena!
