Brendan Cook scored twice and Luke Fulghum provided the game-winning goal for the Pensacola Ice Pilots as they skated past the Augusta Lynx 4-3 on Wednesday night at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center.

Cook opened the first period scoring with a breakaway goal at 8:45, beating Lynx starter Jason Wolfe over the right pad with a deke. Nicolas Corbeil responded with his first of two goals on the night with a power play marker at 16:02 from Shaun Fisher and Jake Riddle.

Shaun Landolt provided the only goal of the second period to give the Ice Pilots a 2-1 lead through 40 minutes of play, but Dan Sullivan grabbed the momentum back for the Lynx at 1:06 of the third from Brian Passmore and Joel Stepp to tie the game at two.

Cook's second goal of the game put Pensacola back in front at 7:28, but again the Lynx evened the score on Corbeil's second of the night from Ken Scuderi and Ryan Lang at 9:29.

The contest seemed destined for overtime, but with under a minute to go Fulghum and Adam Courchaine worked a give-and-go to perfection, with Fulghum beating Wolfe from an off-angle to surprise the Lynx with a 4-3 win in regulation.

Wolfe finished the game with 13 saves for Augusta, while Frederic Cloutier made 37 saves in earning the win for the Ice Pilots. Augusta finished 1-for-6 on the power play while Pensacola went 0-for-4.

The Lynx are back in action with three games this weekend, starting with a road trip to Columbia to battle the Inferno on Friday night before returning home for the second half of that home and home series on Saturday, followed by a Sunday matinee against Greenville. Tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
